What's Happening

The HKUST MSBA Program was honoured to welcome Ms Anya Jia (Senior Product Director of SenseTime and Head of SenseTime Raccoon Product Series) and Ms Maryann Tseng (Senior Managing Director of SenseTime) for an inspiring enrichment talk on 26 August 2025 at HKUST Business Central.

Drawing on leadership experience in AI and product innovation, our speakers shared practical insights on navigating careers and building impact at the intersection of technology and business.

They emphasised the importance of:
➡️ Purposeful career pivots: focus on a sustainable growth path rather than frequent shifts without direction
➡️ Human behaviour + data: empathy, audience understanding, and clear communication alongside analytics
➡️ AI as a co-pilot: using GenAI and “AI using tools” to accelerate research, writing, coding, and analysis while keeping judgment and accountability human
➡️ From design to commercialisation: cross-functional execution, domain focus, and adapting solutions to real users
➡️ Lifelong learning and wellbeing: keep building skills, practise public speaking, and balance ambition with health

A heartfelt thank you to Ms Anya Jia and Ms Maryann Tseng for their time, generosity, and candid advice. Our students left with actionable frameworks for leading with empathy, communicating with impact, and collaborating with AI to create value.
