Showcasing Innovation: ISOM6670G Practical AI for Business – Final Presentations
Last evening (17 December 2024), our HKUST MSc in Business Analytics students presented their final projects for the ISOM6670G Practical AI for Business course taught by Prof Joon Nak Choi. This course challenged students to explore the core of artificial intelligence and its transformative applications in business.
Through a combination of hands-on exercises and in-depth discussions, students honed their ability to communicate AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
For their final projects, 15 student teams selected real-world use cases and developed prototypes showcasing AI-driven solutions for various business challenges. While the full list of topics is extensive, some of the innovative applications included:
Inventory optimization
Financial advisory for investments
Customer lifecycle management
Medical companions
Job recruitment tools
Cooking and nutrition advisors
Mental health support systems
These impressive prototypes were presented to their peers and a distinguished panel of judges, including Prof Lancelot F. James, Prof Chris Doran, Mr Ho Sun Lok, Dr Yuanto Kusnadi, Prof Joon Nak Choi and Ms Marcela Barrios León.
Congratulations to all our students for their exceptional creativity, dedication, and outstanding achievements! Your work highlights the incredible potential of AI in driving meaningful business outcomes.
